The Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre is the only institute in Bulgaria and abroad that is fully orientated to the comprehensive study of the work of the Slav First Teachers Sts Cyril and Methodius. Unlike kinded institutes in Bulgaria and foreign lands that look into separate of the Cyrillo-Methodian studies, the CMRC examines the problems in their entirety, applying simultaneously linguistic, literary, textological, art, palaeographic and cultural-historical methods. The CMRC cooperates with a broad circle of Bulgarian and foreign specialists and institutions, publishes their contributions in the journal “Palaeobulgarica” and in the series ”Cyrillo-Methodian Studies”. In this way CMRC has become in practice the coordinator of the scholarly investigations in the sphere of Cyrillo-Methodian studies.
